Vemdalen
Destination Vemdalen offers unique and easily accessible experiences: everything from enjoyable spa stays to a bike park with flow trails, several magnificent waterfalls, and hikes up mountain peaks. It is as easy to get there as it is to venture out into the mountains and just enjoy nature and experiences.
Ramundberget
Ramundberget is located at the end of the road, where everything is close by. Ramundberget offers cycling in its own bike park, along trails and in the pump track. You can also hike, paddle, golf, and ride. For children, Mickelina's World awaits, both in the mountains and in the valley.
The bus arrives and departs outside Fjällgården.
Storhogna
Storhogna Högfjällshotell & Spa offers hotel accommodation with a breakfast buffet, three-course dinner, pool, and sauna. Hike or cycle MTB during the day, relax, and enjoy something nice in the evening.
Vemdalsskalet
Accommodation in Vemdalsskalet can be booked through Skistar Vemdalen and Vemdalsskalets Högfjällshotell. Be sure to choose accommodation near the bus stop, lift, and shop.
SkiStar Vemdalen has SkiStarShop open where you can rent bikes and buy equipment. You can also rent bikes from Äventyr & Konferens and Vemdalen Ski Shop in Vemdalsskalet.
Hiking from Ramundberget to Storulvån
In collaboration with the Swedish Tourist Association (STF), you can now experience one of Sweden’s most spectacular mountain hikes – from Ramundberget to Storulvån.
This classic route, also known as the Jämtlands Trail, stretches 63 kilometres and takes you across alpine tundra and past two of Sweden’s most majestic massifs – Helags and Sylarna.
You can choose in which direction to hike – the trail is relatively easy and follows mainly boardwalks and open terrain. Each stage is between 12 and 19 km long (4–7 hours of walking). Along the way, you stay comfortably at STF’s mountain stations and huts. All stations have shops and restaurants, and many huts have shops too, making this a perfect multi-day hike without the need to carry heavy food supplies.
Here’s how to get to the trail with Snälltåget:
- Starting in the south: Take the overnight train to Östersund, then transfer by bus to Ramundberget
- Starting in the north: Take the overnight train to Enafors, then transfer by bus to Storulvån Mountain Station
