About the journey to Funäsfjällen

Overnight train to Funäsfjällen
Snälltåget’s overnight train is a smooth and comfortable way to travel to the mountains. You can choose between a regular seat, a berth in a shared compartment, or a private compartment for up to six people – perfect for families or groups of friends. Compartments can easily be converted from day to night mode, and bed linen is always included.

How to book
You can book your train ticket and any necessary transfer easily on our website. It’s also possible to pre-order meals on board. The booking feature is available at the top of the page or via the homepage.

Transfer to Funäsfjällen
To ensure you have a seat on the connecting bus from the train, we recommend booking your entire journey all the way to your final destination. In the online booking, select either "Funäsdalen busstation", "Bruksvallarna Stigmyhrs Livs" or "Ramundberget Fjällgården", depending on where you're going.

Meals on board
Our restaurant carriage, Krogen, is open in the evening and serves breakfast in the morning. For the smoothest experience, we recommend pre-booking both a table in the restaurant and your meals when purchasing your ticket.

Luggage and equipment
If you’re travelling via Östersund, you can check in bulky items such as skis, sleds or prams (cost: SEK 149 per item and journey). If you’re travelling via Röjan, luggage check-in is not available. If you’ve booked a private compartment, you’ll have more space for luggage – especially if not all beds are in use. Please note that space is limited, so we recommend using small, flexible bags such as rucksacks or soft duffle bags.

Travelling with pets
Pets are welcome in standard seats, private compartments and on the transfer bus. Don’t forget to tick the option "I want to travel with a pet" when booking.

Ticket conditions
You can rebook your ticket up to 24 hours before departure (or 7 days in advance for private compartments). For trains 13904 and 13905, outbound and return journeys must be booked together. Want the option to cancel? Then choose the refundable ticket add-on.
