Our night trains take you all the way to one of the world's best skiing destinations! Board the train in the afternoon or evening, relax in your compartment and enjoy a nice dinner in our restaurant Krogen. You wake up refreshed the day after, enjoy breakfast onboard and are ready for your day at the slopes.

Åre – one of the world's best skiing destinations

It’s not just us at Snälltåget who think so – Åre has repeatedly been named one of the world’s top ski destinations by several international travel magazines. The resort is home to a wide range of slopes, lifts and alpine terrain, and has hosted numerous World Cup competitions over the years.

Looking for an action-packed mountain holiday? Åre village is buzzing with life, offering everything from restaurants and shopping to bars and nightlife. Many accommodations are within walking distance of the lifts, slopes and après-ski venues. Nicknamed "the village that never sleeps", Åre promises you’ll never have a dull moment.

For families with children who prefer a quieter atmosphere, the nearby areas of Åre Björnen and Duved offer family-friendly accommodation with access to all the mountain activities – perfect for both seasoned adventurers and young beginners trying skis for the first time.

The ski area is divided into a high alpine zone above the treeline, and a lower forested zone below it. In the lower zone, you’ll find several challenging red and black runs, some of which are featured in the Alpine World Cup. The high zone, accessible by gondola, offers a variety of gentler blue and green slopes – ideal for less experienced skiers.

And no matter where you are, you’re never far from a cosy slope-side restaurant in Åre. You’ll also find everything you need for your skiing adventure – from equipment rentals to shops where you can buy any gear you’re missing.

If you love winter adventures and skiing, you’ll love Åre – it’s as simple as that.
