Rebooking, cancellation and refund rules
Here you will find information about the rules for rebooking, cancellation and refunds for Snälltåget tickets.
Tickets purchased via Snälltåget.se are rebookable. For an additional fee, tickets can also be made refundable.
Rebookable tickets
Tickets purchased via Snälltåget.se are rebookable. Tickets purchased via resellers are not rebookable.
If you purchase a ticket on the same day as departure (or a private compartment on a night train within six days of departure), the ticket is not rebookable.
Time limits
The ticket must be cancelled no later than 24 hours before departure. For private compartments on night trains, cancellation must be made at least seven days before departure.
How rebooking works
To rebook your journey, you must first cancel your ticket.
When a rebookable ticket is cancelled, you will receive a voucher equal to the ticket price minus a fee of SEK 50 per leg and passenger. The voucher is valid for 365 days and can be used to purchase a new journey with Snälltåget.
If the new ticket is more expensive, you pay the difference. If it is cheaper, the voucher can be used on multiple occasions.
If you purchased your ticket via Snälltåget, you can cancel it via My Journey.
Please note
If one or more travellers are cancelled, the price will be recalculated based on the new conditions. For example, if one of two travellers cancels, the Together discount no longer applies, which may result in a higher price for the remaining traveller.
Refundable tickets
Refundable tickets can be purchased for an additional fee, regardless of the sales channel.
If you purchase a ticket on the same day as departure (or a private compartment on a night train within six days of departure), the ticket is not refundable.

How refunds work
A refundable ticket cannot be rebooked, only cancelled. When cancelled, the ticket price is refunded minus a fee of SEK 50 per leg and passenger.
If you purchased your ticket via Snälltåget, you can cancel it via My Journey. If you purchased via a reseller, you need to contact them directly.
Important information
- Cancellation or rebooking later than 24 hours before departure (or 7 days for private compartments) means the full ticket price will be forfeited.
- It is not possible to cancel individual travellers in a private compartment.
We also recommend checking the terms of your home or travel insurance, as well as any travel insurance included when paying with Visa or MasterCard.
Tickets with special conditions
For package holidays that include Snälltåget, the tour operator’s terms and conditions apply.
Special ticket rules apply for certain night trains (train numbers 304, 305, 3904, 3905, 3906, 3907, 13904 och 13905). These journeys can only be booked as return trips, and it is not possible to cancel only part of the journey. This also applies to connecting segments booked within the same reservation.
