Rules for rebooking, cancellation, and refunds
Here you’ll find information on the rules for rebooking, cancelling, and refunding Snälltåget tickets.
Tickets purchased via Snälltåget.se are rebookable. For an additional fee, the ticket can also be refundable.
Rebookable tickets
Tickets purchased via Snälltåget.se are rebookable. Tickets bought through resellers are non-rebookable.
If you purchase a ticket on the same day as travel (Private Compartment on night trains within six days of departure), the ticket is non-rebookable.
Tickets must be cancelled at least 24 hours before departure. Private Compartment on night trains must be cancelled at least seven days before departure.
To rebook, you must first cancel your journey.
When a rebookable ticket is cancelled, you receive a voucher worth the ticket price minus a fee of 50 SEK per segment and passenger. The voucher is valid for 365 days and can be used to purchase a rebookable journey with Snälltåget.
If the new ticket is more expensive, you will need to pay the difference. If the ticket is cheaper, you can use the voucher multiple times.
If you purchased your ticket directly from Snälltåget, you can cancel via My Journey.
When cancelling individual passengers, the price is recalculated based on the new conditions. For example, if one of two passengers is cancelled, the group discount is removed, resulting in a higher price for the remaining passenger.
Individual passengers in Private Compartments cannot be cancelled.
Refundable tickets
Refundable tickets can be purchased for an additional fee, regardless of the sales channel.
If you purchase a ticket on the same day as travel (Private Compartment on night trains within six days of departure), the ticket is non-refundable.

Refundable tickets cannot be rebooked; they can only be cancelled. Upon cancellation, the ticket price is refunded minus a fee of 50 SEK per segment and passenger.
If you purchased your ticket directly from Snälltåget, you can cancel via My Journey. If you bought your ticket through a reseller, you must contact the reseller for cancellation.
Individual passengers in Private Compartments cannot be cancelled.
Tickets with special conditions
For package trips including Snälltåget, the tour operator’s cancellation and refund terms apply.
For journeys with Snälltåget night trains 304, 305, 3904, 3905, 3906, 3907, 13904, 13905, special ticket rules apply. The journey can only be purchased as a round trip, and it is not possible to cancel just one leg of the journey. This also applies to connecting segments booked in the same reservation.
