Onboard meals for groups and larger parties

Travelling together and would like to dine onboard? Here you will find information about how meal and table reservations work for different party sizes.

Dining in Krogen

To enjoy hot meals or purchase alcoholic beverages, you need to reserve a table in Krogen. Seating is limited, so we recommend booking well in advance of departure.


How does it work?

How meal and table reservations work depends on the size of your party.

Parties of up to 12 passengers

If your party consists of up to 12 passengers, you can reserve tables yourselves via My Journey.

You order onboard from our regular menu and pay onboard. Krogen also has a self-service checkout where you can purchase sandwiches, pastries, snacks, as well as hot and cold drinks to take back to your seats. On departures offering breakfast (before 11:00), you may also reserve breakfast in Krogen. On overnight trains, breakfast can also be pre-ordered as takeaway.

Parties of 13 passengers or more

For larger parties of 13 passengers or more, we offer the possibility to pre-order food and drinks from a dedicated menu. The available options depend on whether you would like to dine in Krogen or take your meals back to your seats onboard:

  • If you reserve tables in Krogen, we offer a two-course menu.
  • If there is no availability in Krogen, you may instead pre-order cold takeaway meals, such as baguettes or focaccia, to enjoy at your seats onboard.
  • On departures offering breakfast (before 11:00), you may also pre-order breakfast takeaway, or breakfast in Krogen subject to availability.

If you do not wish to pre-order meals but would still like to dine in Krogen, table reservations must be split into smaller parties with a maximum of 12 passengers per booking. In that case, you order and pay onboard from our regular menu.


Menus – Parties of 13 Passengers or More

Below you will find our menus for parties of 13 passengers or more. The available menu depends on the departure and whether you dine in Krogen or order takeaway meals.


Two-Course Menu in Krogen

The menu below is available for parties who reserve tables and dine in Krogen.

The menu is available on most departures where Krogen is included, for example Malmö–Stockholm, Malmö–Oslo and Stockholm–Copenhagen–Hamburg and vice versa.

Exceptions apply to the overnight trains to Austria (train 304/305), Jämtland (train 24/25, 3900/3901, 3902/3903 and 3904/3905) and the daytime trains to Mora (train 3908/3909). On these departures, our regular two-course menu applies instead, including for larger parties.

The two-course menus below include one main course, dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage. A vegetarian option is always available, and beer or wine may also be pre-ordered with the meal.

Beef Patty with Feta Cheese

Beef patty with feta cheese and olives, served with potato gratin, tomato and basil sauce, whipped feta and an olive mix with sun-dried tomatoes. Allergens: milk and egg.

Black Rice with Chickpeas and Sweet Potato

Black rice with chickpeas, roasted sweet potato, broccoli and green beans. Served with a mango sauce flavoured with lemon, chilli, garlic and mint. Allergens: sulphites.

Mango and Passion Fruit Cheesecake

Vegan cheesecake with mango and passion fruit, made with plant-based cream and cream cheese on a digestive biscuit base. Flavoured with vanilla sugar and topped with icing sugar. Allergens: wheat. May contain traces of milk, soya and mustard.

Pulled Beef with Roasted Root Vegetables

Pulled beef made from Swedish beef chuck with onion, garlic and paprika, served with roasted root vegetables such as golden beetroot, carrot, parsnip and blue potato. Topped with pickled red onion and crème fraîche. Allergens: milk.

Pulled Vego with Rice

Vegetarian chilli with pulled pea protein, tomato, black beans, onion, carrot and celeriac, flavoured with paprika, cumin and chilli. Served with tomato rice flavoured with garlic and oregano. Allergens: celery and sulphites.

Key Lime Pie

Vegan key lime pie with lime, plant-based cream and cream cheese on a digestive biscuit base. Topped with icing sugar. Allergens: wheat. May contain traces of milk, soya and mustard.

Takeaway Menu

The menu below is available for groups who would like to take their meals back to their seats onboard.

The menu is available on all departures where Krogen is included.

Baguette made with wheat flour, water, sugar, rye flour, yeast, rapeseed oil and salt. Filled with slow-cooked pork belly, pickled cucumber, pickled red onion, cabbage mix, vegan mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, spring onion and coriander. Allergens: wheat, rye, soya, sesame and sulphur dioxide. May contain traces of egg, milk and sesame seeds.

Focaccia

Focaccia made with wheat flour, olive oil, rosemary and thyme. Filled with Italian ham, lactose-free cream cheese, rocket, pesto, sun-dried tomato and red onion. Allergens: wheat, barley, milk and sheep’s milk. Contains pine nuts.

Baguette “Mexi-no chicken”

Baguette made with wheat flour, water, sugar, rye flour, yeast, rapeseed oil and salt. Filled with plant protein-based Crispy No Chicken, cabbage mix, roasted peppers, sweetcorn crème and pickled red onion. Allergens: wheat, rye, soya, oats and celery. May contain traces of egg, milk, barley, mustard and sesame seeds.


Breakfast

On departures offering breakfast (before 11:00 or on overnight trains), you may pre-order breakfast takeaway to enjoy at your seats onboard.

Carrot Bread Roll with Cheese

Carrot bread roll made with wheat flour, rye flour, oats and sunflower seeds. Filled with cheese, peppers and lettuce. Allergens: wheat, rye, oats, barley and milk.

Cinnamon Bun

Classic cinnamon bun baked with wheat flour, butter, milk and egg, flavoured with cinnamon and cardamom, and topped with pearl sugar. Allergens: gluten, milk and egg.

Snällmackan

Gluten-free bread roll with oats, sunflower seeds and avocado. Filled with plant-based creamy spread, lettuce and beetroot sprouts. Allergens: oats.

Chocolate Ball

Chocolate ball made with gluten-free oats, cocoa, dairy-free margarine and vanilla sugar, rolled in coconut flakes. Allergens: oats.

Under each menu above, you will find information about ingredients and allergens for our pre-order meals.

If anyone in your group requires a special diet, please let us know when pre-ordering meals. The earlier we receive the information, the better our opportunities to adapt the meals accordingly.
