Discounts with Snälltåget
Snälltåget offers several different discounts that can make your journey cheaper. Which discount you are eligible for depends, for example, on your age, whether you are a student, or if you are travelling together.
The discounts apply only to the Seat fare category. They do not apply when booking a Private compartment, a Berth in a shared compartment, or a First Class Seat.
Discounts generally cannot be combined with each other, with the exception of the Travelling Together discount.
Family offer
Travelling with children? Then you can bring children at a reduced price.
An adult travelling in the Seat fare category may bring up to two children under the age of 16 at a reduced price.
All children must have their own ticket, including infants. The exception is Private compartments, where children under the age of seven may share a berth with another passenger.
Youth discount
Passengers under the age of 26 receive a discount in the Seat fare category.
Age must be verified with valid identification.
Student discount
Students with a valid student card receive a discount in the Seat fare category.
The discount applies to the following student cards:
- Mecenat card
- Studentkortet / STUK.CO
- ISIC card
The student card must be presented together with valid identification during ticket inspection.
Senior discount (60+)
Passengers aged 60 or over can travel at a reduced price in the Seat fare category. The discount may need to be verified with valid identification.
The discount also applies to passengers receiving disability benefits from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan). In such cases, a certificate from Försäkringskassan must be presented.
Travelling together discount
Travelling with friends or family? Then you may be eligible for a Travelling Together discount.
The discount applies when adults, seniors, students or young people travel together. The Travelling Together discount can be combined with other discounts.
If one person in the group cancels their ticket, the price may be recalculated for the remaining travellers.
