Comfort levels on day trains
Seat
You’ll have a seat in a coach or a compartment for 6 people.
Adults, seniors, youth, and students get a 25% discount on Seat tickets when travelling together.
Children under 16 can receive up to 80% off if travelling with an adult, senior, youth, or student.
Students travelling alone get a 25% discount on Seats, and seniors travelling alone get a 20% discount on Seats.
First Class Seat
You’ll have a seat in a coach or a compartment for 6 people. The seat is more comfortable and wider than a standard seat.
Private Compartment
You have a private compartment for yourself or your group. The compartment accommodates up to six people.
Private compartments are available on some of our day trains. If available on your selected departure, it will appear as "Private Compartment Seats" or "Private Compartment" under the "Fare Class" section when booking online.
Comfort levels on night trains
Seat on night train
You’ll have a seat in a salon carriage or a compartment for 6 people.
First Class Seat on night train
Travel in a comfortable armchair that is wider than a standard seat. Includes a pillow with a pillowcase, blanket, and undersheet.
First Class Seat is only available on some of our night trains. If First Class Seat is available, you can select it during the second step of the online booking process, under Price Level.
Berth in shared compartment
Private Compartment on night trains
In a Private compartment, there are six berths for you or your group.
Upon boarding, the compartment is set up for seating. At bedtime, you and your fellow travellers convert it to sleeping mode. In sleeping mode, there are three beds on each side of the compartment, with access to the upper beds via a ladder.
You’ll make up your own bed with the bed linen provided in the compartment. Pillows, pillowcases, sheets, and duvets are also provided.
