Accessibility statement for Snälltåget.se

This statement explains how Snälltåget.se relates to the laws and guidelines governing digital accessibility:

  • The Swedish Act on the Accessibility of Certain Products and Services (2023:254), which entered into force on 28 June 2025
  • Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council on accessibility requirements for products and services (the European Accessibility Act)
  • The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which underpin the EU directive

For Snälltåget, the legislation primarily applies to the online booking system. Our aim is also to make the rest of the website meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA as far as possible.

Below we describe known accessibility issues and how to contact us if you encounter a problem.

Known accessibility issues

The following accessibility issues are known:

  • Technical
    • Date picker, main navigation and expandable blocks do not fully support keyboard operation.
    • A “Skip to content” link is missing.
  • Design
    • Insufficient colour contrast for some text.
  • Content and structure
    • Not all images currently have descriptive alt text.
    • The navigation structure is not yet fully consistent.

Areas not yet sufficiently tested

  • Compatibility with screen readers and mobile assistive technologies
  • HTML and CSS validation at scale

Actions and testing

During summer 2025 we carried out an internal review of accessibility issues, which will be followed by external testing in autumn 2025.

Findings from the external testing will be added to the list of known issues and will inform our remediation plan. Our goal is to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
